Blog Post #4 and Self Assessment

Do you feel your blog meets all the rubric criteria? If not, then what areas need work? I feel as sometimes my blogs can meet the rubric criteria but I tend to get off topic very easily. Which aspects of writing assignments on a blog confuse or create stress for you? The assignment on the blog that was most confusing was the  Race and Politics the only reason why because its a topic I had to learn on my own. Are you putting your best efforts into assignments and blog writing? I am putting my best effort into my assignment and blogs. Or,  do you procrastinate and then have trouble completing your work? I do not have a hard time completing my work. Do you review and revise your blog posts for grammar, mechanics, and readability? yes, I do have to review my blog for grammar. Writing on a blog can be risky since the blog is public and will be seen by others. How do you feel about other students reading your blog and peer-reviewing?  (it's okay to feel uncomfortable - that's normal). Since people can see my blog post and my fellow classmates I feel somewhat comfortable but also at the same time uncomfortable. They can help me with what I need to work on as they read my blogs what I can fix. always good to get other people to view to see how they think and to open our minds more. What would you like for us to discuss in class to help you improve your blog writing? I would like for us to discuss on how to use different words to help improve our blogs, also how to not get off-topic and have a strong paragraph. What have you learned about blogs that you did not know before? I have learned about blogs is that they can inspire a lot of people also you can influence a lot of people. blocks can help us know their knowledge from one another. blogs help us see how others think and how they view things so we can get a different perspective. from today in the past blogs have come a long way.

 Anhala Woodbine 1101 English  9/20/2020 Is Cheerleading An Actual Sport?  When you think of cheerleading, do you ever think of it as a sport?   I know I do, most people don't think of it as a sport, but it plays so many roles. When cheerleading first started, it was all men in the 1800s. They didn't allow women until 1923. At first, cheerleading was not a sport just a crowd cheering on a football team. Over time it started to grow larger, they started to teach students more complicated routines, stunts, and jumps. This event made All-Star a sport. They begin to focus more on competition and athletic training. Cheerleaders do so much we barely notice, they carry their teammates as they do flips, or even throw them up in the air. As you see other sports at practice everyday cheerleaders are there as well practicing on they stunt, jumps, flips, and dances.   When you wake up in the morning, do you grab your phone and go straight to social media?  There are a lot of people who do that on a daily basis and don’t even notice it.  We are so stuck on what we receive from social media that sometimes we begin to think of it as the truth. The article “Americans Who Mainly Get Their News on Social Media Are Less Engaged, Less Knowledgeable by BY AMY MITCHELL, MARK JURKOWITZ, J. BAXTER OLIPHANT, and ELISA SHEARER. Where it states” ...These U.S. adults, for instance, tend to be less likely than other news consumers to closely follow major news stories, such as the coronavirus outbreak and the 2020 presidential election.”.  This is showing us the news that is reposted on social media and we began to believe that it is true.  We see others posting about their opinion and we get caught up with other people agreeing, thinking that they know all the facts, in all honesty, no one does.  This statement also shows us that we rely more on people’s statement

Blog Post #8 - Music

The song stand by me has been remade in so many different ways but with this song and the video, it changes the whole perspective.  The song “Stand By Me | Playing For Change | Song Around The World” which was Published November 6, 2008.  The main purpose is to bring everyone closer, but if we look more into it you will see so many different cultures, you will see they are all playing music on the street and all dress differently.  The relationship between the band playing seems as if they are connected.  As the song plays in the beginning you will see a man singing alone but also he has every instrument he needs set up to sing the song.  This is similar to the other band players because what they can relate to is the instruments that they are using and playing.  You see that they are all using headphones.  This was all recorded from one person, it took this person over several years to get this whole video done.  Just because they had to fly to every state and country that was listed
