Is Cheerleading An Actual Sport?

When you think of cheerleading, do you ever think of it as a sport?   I know I do, most people don't think of it as a sport, but it plays so many roles. When cheerleading first started, it was all men in the 1800s. They didn't allow women until 1923. At first, cheerleading was not a sport just a crowd cheering on a football team. Over time it started to grow larger, they started to teach students more complicated routines, stunts, and jumps. This event made All-Star a sport. They begin to focus more on competition and athletic training. Cheerleaders do so much we barely notice, they carry their teammates as they do flips, or even throw them up in the air. As you see other sports at practice everyday cheerleaders are there as well practicing on they stunt, jumps, flips, and dances. When it comes to competition cheerleading, you have to make sure you are sharp that your dance and stunts are way different from the others. The sport requires intense physical. Just like any other team you have to build trust, honesty, and communication. Without these things, no team can last. You have to be able to trust them because when you're a flyer you letting them throw you in the air. That goes for back spotters and base you have someone who trusts you. When it comes to all sport you need words without you guys will get nowhere, not know what's going on, and you will look a mess. Cheerleading is very similar to other sports such as gymnastics, dance, and so, if you take a look with all of these, you can see how I think cheerleading is a sport and it plays a role in other sports, can also do as much as other sports never undermine it.

  1. I am happy to finally read your blog posts. I agree that cheerleading is a a sport. A lot of athleticism, teamwork, creativity, and dedication are in cheerleading.
I like the way you expressed the topic we had to write about. I would like to suggest downloading Grammerly. It will check you for capitalization, punctuation, and correct spelling of words. I also use a site for citation that uses the required MLA format, Citationmachine.net.
